it is a unique wax from tomato skin, depleted in lycopene and carotene (natural colorants), easily formulated in cosmetic emulsions. The Doctrine of Signatures, or the Doctrine of Correspondences, was developed in Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries. The theory asserts that the way plants (minerals and others) look, feel, taste, or react suggests their medicinal application.
Firstly, tomato fruit was perceived to have four chambers and be red like the human heart. Secondly, it is loaded with lycopene which is pure heart and blood food.
However, thanks to current science we know that the tomato contains much more that only lycopene as a bioactive molecule. The peel lipophilic wax, a complex matrix of natural chemical compounds that provides synergy, playing a key role in the protection of the fruit.
The Aztecs identified many therapeutic qualities in the tomato, which they used to treat certain skin disorders.

At the proteomic level
Skin explants model (ex-vivo):
• Increases the production of IL-10, Caspase-14, OCLN, ZO-2
• Decreases the production of TRPV1, CGRP
At the clinical level
(4 in-vivo studies carried out on 20 or 30 women, with sensitive skin condition)
• Hydration, soothing, anti-redness effect and skin barrier function reinforcement.
• Recommended Dosis: from 0.5% to 1%.

In a cream formulation the colouring is from light yellow to peach-like color at recommended doses.
